The Rise of the TikTok Cities – A Bold New Look for ING Media’s Latest Report
16 page map fold out print report
As part of ING Media’s Europe’s Most Talked About Cities series, The Rise of the TikTok Cities is a research-driven report that will debut at MIPIM 2025, the world’s largest commercial property event. Tasked with designing a striking visual identity for this year’s edition, I was challenged to break away from the aesthetic of previous reports and craft a more distinctive, ‘punked-up’ look and feel—one that would capture attention and spark conversation among the thousands of industry professionals attending the event.
Drawing inspiration from the disruptive energy of TikTok culture, I developed a bold, high-contrast design language that embraces raw, dynamic typography, layered visuals, and an edgy colour palette. The result is a visually engaging report that reflects the rapid evolution of urban influence in the digital age. Balancing creativity with clarity, the design ensures that key insights remain accessible while making a lasting impact on the MIPIM audience.
The report was printed as an innovative 16-page map-style format, unfolding into an A2 poster-style graphic. This layout features the Top 60 city ranking, a map highlighting future rising stars, and essential recommendations—providing both a visually compelling and functional resource for industry professionals.
This project exemplifies the power of design in elevating research and thought leadership, transforming data-driven content into a visually compelling narrative that stands out in a crowded space.
